These are some important generic conventions that are seen in a drama film.

• shows real life situations, with realistic characters, setting and stories
• portrays journey of character development
• intense social interaction
• purpose of a dramatic story line is to move the audience emotionally
• heart of the drama is conflict- includes, hardship, difficulty and pain
• audience can relate to the character
• a form of realisation at the end/ happily ending
• structured with climaxes and anti-climaxes to keep the audience going, emotionally and keep the tension going
• man against nature
